Sustainable Aviation Management
- Students will acquire an in-depth knowledge of sustainable management of airports and aeronautical sectors, beginning with airports and continuing with airlines, air law, the aeronautical industry, as well as air navigation
- Strategies of major international airports, system partners, airlines and air navigation services with regard to a sustainable mobility culture will be presented in case studies
- Course offered in block style and meets daily in the morning and afternoon
Students will acquire an in-depth knowledge of sustainable management of airports and aeronautical sectors, beginning with airports and continuing with airlines, air law, aeronautical industry, as well as air navigation. Strategies of major international airports, system partners, airlines and air navigation services with regard to a sustainable mobility culture will be presented in case studies. Development perspectives include influence of society, legislation, customers, suppliers, competition and new business models.
By completing this course, students will be able to:
- Plan and develop strategies for major international airports, system partners, airlines and air transport. They understand the development perspectives of the companies and the significance of strategic cooperation with regard to sustainable mobility.
- Apply their knowledge and skills with regard to operational requirements and business requirements as well as market conditions in order to correctly interpret strategic contexts for decisions based on sustainability within a company.
The case studies on sustainable aviation as well as the group work will deepen the methodological and social competences of the students.
Students studying aviation management are welcome to apply for the course. Maximum capacity for the course is 20 participants, as international students will be integrated into a regular semester module within the study program Aviation Management (B.A.) at Frankfurt UAS.
This course is offered through Hessen:ISU (International Summer Universities) and students from the Hessen:Queensland, Hessen:Massachusetts, and Hessen:Wisconsin Exchange Programs are especially encouraged to apply.
Students will earn a total of 7,5 ECTS points for the successful completion of the course.
A single ECTS point is defined as the equivalent of 25-30 hours of student workload, which includes class hours, readings, preparation for class activities, as well as assessment measures.
The program fee is 500€.
